CICLOPE Shanghai last Thursday was a huge success, gathering over 150 of the most active players in the local market from creative agencies, production companies, post and music houses.
Hosted by leading local production company Gwantsi, post production house Fin Design & Effects and digital creative production company MediaMonks, the conference and networking event was held at the trendy Waterhouse Hotel, at South Bund, and was locally organized by SHP+.
Jacqueline Zhang, Executive Producer at Gwantsi, gave a very enthusiastic opening speech sharing her experience as a judge of CICLOPE Festival in 2014, and explaining the importance of a having a festival like this in China.
In words of Jan Willem, responsible for developing MediaMonks in Asia Pacific, “Given the amazing growth of China as well as the exciting development of the digital space in this market it really was quite a no-brainer to come to Shanghai.”
The conference started with Eric Cruz, Executive Creative Director of AKQA Shanghai, who shared the process behind the making of Nike Rise, which probably was one of the most challenging brand installations recently done in China.
Then Fin Design´s VFX supervisor Stuart White shared the latest works developed by the company in the local market, including a cutting edge VR project on which they are currently working.
Last but not least the evening ended with drinks and good music, becoming the very first edition of what will probably become a ‘must do’ event for the local ad community.

CICLOPE “独眼巨人”广告奖世界巡展上海站在昨晚结束并取得了巨大的成功,超过150位的本地广告精英出席了活动,其中包括了广告创意,执行制片人和导演等。
上海站获得了本地著名的制作公司观池、澳洲后期公司FIN Design And Effects以及数字创意制作公司MediaMonks的大力支持,当晚的活动在老码头时尚的水舍酒店举行,包括了创意演讲和交流酒会两部分。活动由国际制作人代理公司SHP(Shanghai Premium)协办。
观池制作人兼上海负责人张雪芹女士是第一位发言人,性情中人的张总由感而发、慷慨激昂地分享了她作为2014年CICLOPE广告节评委的心得与经历,并强调在中国举办这样一个广告节的重要性。
紧接着发言的MediaMonks亚太地区负责人Jan Willem,他谦虚地说到:“对于中国的惊人增长,以及让人兴奋的具大的数字营销空间,我们觉得我们对这个市场的认知还是不够的”。
来自AKQA上海的执行创意总监Eric Cruz是首位演讲人,他分享了去年AKQA上海打造的最重要的全国性广告战役—— “打出名堂”(“Nike Rise”), 广告战役里还使用了可能是中国近年来最具挑战性的品牌装置技术。接下来的FIN Design演讲人是视觉特效主管Suart White,他分享了FIN最新影视作品里所应用的先进技术,其中包括了目前最尖端的 VR技术。
演讲过后,各位来宾在美酒和佳肴中开始交流经验并结识新同行。这是广告节在上海举办的第一次活动,以后可能将成为本地业界里不可或缺的聚会 。
