After four days in the Thai sun, it’s back to the Shanghai grind. Here we run down the essential facts and figures relating specifically to the China presence at Adfest 2016, including delegates, presenters and prizewinners.

今年,1200位代表齐聚皇家克里夫酒店,前来参加亚太广告节,其中中国代表人数多达200位。这也意味着中国代表在本次大会上的人数攀升至所有与会国家的第二名。
Adfest 2016 attracted 1200 guests to the Royal Cliff Resort this year, with over 200 of those coming from the PRC. A highly diverse attendee list means Chinese delegates comprised the second largest contingent at the festival.

演讲 Presentations
为期四天的广告节上,有三个演讲都来自中国公司。Eric Cruz(AKQA上海的执行创意总监)开启了第一天的演讲。他的演讲主题——超人类时代的创意思维——着眼于未来,被认为是整个广告节上最引人注目的演讲之一。
紧随其后发表演讲的是杰尔广告大中华区的创意总监Jason Chang与Republic Studios的创办者和执行制片人。他们的演讲——让科技更娱乐,带领观众走进了一场技术之旅。
There were three talks by China-based presenters across the four days. Eric Cruz (ECD, AKQA Shanghai) kicked of Day 1 with a bang. His talk, Creativity In the Age of Superhuman, firmly focused on the future, was credited by many as one of the most engaging of the festival.
Immediately following Eric were Shanghai-based Jason Chang (creative director, Cheil Greater China) and Eric Hu (founder & EP, Republic Studios). Their talk, Mary Had a Little Lan: Making Technology Playfully Elementary, looked at technology and how we engage with it.

最后,利欧数字网络在星期六下午举办了一场专题讨论。参与讨论的人包括琥珀传播的共同创始人Steven Wang,前太阳马戏团演员、如今的品牌咨询师Jesko Von Den Steinen和Jimmy Lam,大会主席与Jimmy+A公司的创始人。虽然整场演说最终落入老套的创意模式讨论,利欧尝试借助Jesko——前马戏团小丑——的台上表演达到系引人注目与激发人们思考的目的仍然让人眼前一亮。
广告节的最后一天,亚太广告节主席Jimmy Lam邀请所有来自中国广告界的重量级人物齐聚到一起,向他们展示了今年亚太广告节的参展情况与部分参赛作品。参与此次讨论的人包括新任中国商务广告协会会长李西沙。Jimmy Lam希望此举可以促进更多优秀广告公司与作品投入到亚太广告节的盛会当中。
Two and a half days later on Saturday afternoon, LEO Digital Network hosted a panel session in which Amber Communications co-founder Steven Wang put questions to Cirque Du Soleil clown-turned-brand consultant Jesko Von Den Steinen, and Jimmy Lam, one half of the newly formed creative ‘hot-shop’, Jimmy + A. Inviting an accomplished circus performer was an original and intriguing concept and though the session slipped into familiar ‘how to be creative’ territory, LEO deserve credit for trying something different.
On the last morning, Adfest President Jimmy Lam hosted a presentation and tour for a small group of China-based VIPs, including the new president of the China Advertising Association of Commerce (CAAC), aimed at encouraging more future Chinese participation.

获奖情况 Award winners from China
今年的传奇莲花奖被授予劳双恩(上海智威汤逊亚太地区总裁),他在亚太地区的出色创意工作获得了大会的广泛认可。劳双恩是该奖项设立以来的第五位获奖者。
尽管今年参赛的中国作品相较以往有所增加(412件作品),相较于中国市场来说,这一数字仍然略微偏低。
中国公司今年总共捧回12座莲花奖杯,包括一座金奖,6座银奖与5座铜奖。与今年9月份在新加坡举办的亚洲创意节一样,上海佛海佛瑞成为中国地区获奖最多的广告公司。他们总共获得了3块银奖2块铜奖。
Lo Sheung Yan, known to his peers as Mayan Lo (JWT Chairman, Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai), was recognised for his 20 year creative career in the APAC region, with a prestigious Lotus Legend award. It is only the 5th time that such an award has been given.
As for the Lotus awards, though the number of China entries has increased (412 of the 3000 total were from the PRC) it was far from a bumper year for China-based agencies.
China picked up 12 Lotus glass statues in total with 1 gold, 6 silvers and 5 bronze. As was the case at Spikes Asia in September, Fred & Farid Shanghai was China’s most awarded agency taking home 3 silver and 2 bronze awards.
