This clean, crisp spot for LYNK&CO posed unique production challenges for Triangle Films. Shot in Arjeplog, Sweden, the team had to overcome intense winter conditions. The end result was a bright winter scene with smooth snowboarders and sharp skaters cutting in around LYNK&CO’s latest prototype. The LYNK&CO 01 is not on the market yet so this spot was released only for the Shanghai auto show.
During the three day shoot, the day time was used to set up the bright lighting required for the night shoot. With temperatures falling as low as 30 degrees below zero, keeping equipment and people functioning properly at these sorts of temperatures took meticulous planning. The shoot was executed with just over one months prep work, three nights of actual shooting, and three weeks of post production.
As the car advertised is only a prototype for LYNK&CO there was also the fear that the car would have trouble driving on ice and snow. Professional WRC driver Konishi San was flown in from Japan for the shoot to ensure the car was driven by the best hands.
Finding snowboarding and skating talent for this spot was also particularly challenging. The two speed skaters necessary for the shoot came from the Swedish National Team. While the two freestyle skaters also required were from France and Belgium. The snowboarding talent was found and based in Sweden. The LED suits worn by the athletes were made in China and brought to Sweden.

LYNK&CO’s selling point is more about its business model than actual design. It has proposed a direct manufacture to consumer sales structure. According to LYNK&CO’s VP of marketing and sales Alain Visser, the team is placing heavy bets on the future of the shared economy, targeting a younger, urban demographic that is more enticed by convenience and usability than ownership,
The brand has many skeptics to overcome in regards to its business and strategy model. For now, impressive spots like this one by Triangle Films can only help portray the brand image and concept to the public.
