1.The best way to destress?
Drawing favourite animals in my own style, freely without sketching first. When it’s just about drawing— no specific aim, message to anyone.
2.Favorite Chinese saying?
The skillful man works and the wise man worries.
The incapable person does not seek.
3.One thing that always makes you happy and one thing that always makes you sad?
I’m happy when I can transfer to paper what’s in my mind, and vice versa.
It’s not sadness, I feel it’s more about having a reality check when you realize your limits.
There’s some temporary helplessness and frustration that happens all the time, and you either take a detour, you try again, or you just give up.

4.Your main strength as a creative person?
I like that my thoughts can wonder, and I can’t stop my imagination running wild to the point, when I can’t sleep sometimes.
5.Creative person who inspires you?
My grandfather. He used the flowers he collected to teach me about color. When I was young and didn’t understand the subtlety of traditional Chinese culture and stories, he told me stories with rich voice and intonation, facial expressions and body movements. Now in my work and life, I can still find a way through chatting with him if I encounter a very difficult place. Many of my paintings also have my grandfather’s calligraphy.
