Banana W. 王香蕉

Contemporary artist 当代艺术家

Banana W. graduated from Huashan Art School in 2009 and Fudan School of Visual Arts in Shanghai in 2014. Inspired by the two bulldogs in her family, she made a series of paintings and sculptures, and a line of merchandize. Banana W. participated in a variety of exhibitions and commercial collaborations, transmitting the positive attitude, young creativity and the healing power of art through her works.

王香蕉2009年毕业于华山美校, 2014年毕业于上海复旦视觉艺术学院。以家里养的两只斗牛犬为原型，进行一系列的绘画雕塑创作并且开发了诸多原创艺术衍生品。作品有着治愈的力量，表达了年轻人的创意活跃，传播快乐的思想，近几年来参加了许多艺术展览和商业合作。

1. Where were you born? 你在哪里出生？

Shanghai, but I’m a “mix”— my dad is from Suzhou, and my mom is from Shanghai.

2. Someone you would like to have dinner with? 想跟谁一起共进晚餐？

My grandparents. Because they left early. I want to have dinner with them and talk to them. Tell them I’m happy every day, because I can do what I love and support myself.

爷爷奶奶。因为他们走的早。想和他们吃个饭和他们聊聊。和他们说我现在每天都很开心。可以做自己喜欢的事并且能养活自己。我很厉害哦！

3. The best way to destress? 对你来说，最好的减压方式是什么？

I don’t really have much stress. I’m more content. So real distressing for me is to keep myself busy, painting and making pottery. That would make me happy.

减压。我没有什么压力。我比较能知足。所以真的要说减压的话让自己忙起来就减压了吧。那就是画画和捏泥巴了。就开心了。

4. Favorite Chinese saying? 最喜欢的一句中国谚语是？

船到桥头自然直。You will cross the bridge when you get to it.

5. How you discovered you were creative? 你是如何发现自己有创造力的?

I think every person has creativity in them. Maybe God just gave me more so when I start creating something, I can’t stop and it doesn’t take much brainpower. So I’m very grateful for my creativity.

创造力每个人都有可能老天爷给我的比较多我不动脑动手可能就停不下来。所以很感谢我的创造力。
